Happy New Year!
As excited I am for 2015, the period of change from December 31st, 2014 to January 1, 2015 isn’t enough to bring about dramatic change for me. While I do have resolutions to workout more, eat better, travel more, and spread more love, January 1st is not when all this begins; It’s just the beginning of a new calendar year.
For some, January 1st is a reminder to take time to refocus and recenter ourselves, a healthy and important part of life. But I try to reflect and refocus as often as possible: not just yearly or monthly, but daily. The more evaluation of my thoughts, desires, and actions, the more centered and capable I am each day.
Let this “new beginning” really just be a reminder that any day of the year can be a new beginning, only if we decide it is. We are in control of our own happiness. My resolution for the new year, and every day of my life is to work hard for what I want, spread love to all, and to always choose happiness.
