Day 6 – 70 miles to Salem, VA

We woke up this morning at 5 am – Casey’s birthday!

Steph K, Steph C, Katie, Lauren, and I presented Casey with her birthday present – her bike wrapped in ribbon.

Today was dedicated to Olivia, a young adult from Dallas, PA who is fighting cancer.  She is a friend of the Ulman Cancer Fund and is currently going through treatment.  Teams were divided into Jersey Shore characters… Sarah, Lauren, Adam, Harshini, and I were “The Situation.”

Today’s ride was, surprise, hilly!  We basically rode through the Blue Ridge Mountains, which were gorgeous.  And we’re all starting to feel stronger.

Beautiful pictures! Glad to hear you guys didn’t have crazy weather on the way to Lynchburg! Hope the blue skies follow you all through Virginia. So happy for you and the team, seems like you’re trekking through together. Miss you! Stay strong and beautiful :*

Hi “cousin” Michael – amazing that you are doing this! Best of luck and have the greatest summer ever! Not sure when your team is passing through Asheville, NC, but I’m here for the next few days (until Thursday, June 12th). Let me know if we will overlap! – Cortney
